Luctresa Jackson
I had
the pleasure of sitting down with the self proclaimed IMPACT coach,
Luctresa Jackson and getting down to the root of the woman she is today.
She is currently an advocate for the youth by hosting empowerment
events such as, "Everything Pink" and "The Prom Project," which is
intended to help young girls go to prom. We had a chance to speak on
love, overcoming obstacles and her baby, "Aim to IMPACT, not impress!" I
simply love how God choose the ones that society says are "not worthy"
to do His work and manifest His Kingdom. If I wasn't impacted by this
young woman of God before, I certainly am after this.
in order to love me for me. Now I'm at a place in my life where people might not like me but that's okay because I like me.

Tresa: I
don't think the women today are being raised by women with class or
women with intellect and I believe God is bridging that gap, He is
revamping and restoring that. Women today have lost their value, even we
at a point lost our value. So, now when you come back in God you find
that self-value again; you find your pearls back. Once we're able to
find that we're able to not only build the next generation of girls
growing up but, also the women out there that are still broken. They
need us to give them hope again, to show them that you can still be that
virtuous woman. I don't care how many men you've slept with, how many
flaws you have, or how much mistakes you made; you can still be
restored. It's never too late to start over.

L.J: Who was Luctresa Jackson then and who is Luctresa Jackson now?
Luctresa: Luctresa Jackson today comes from not knowing who she was; insecure, broken, rejected, and not feeling like I fit in. I did a lot of things for man's approval and to feel loved. I had to go through some rejection to really understand who I am and understand that people who are meant to be in your life, people who are meant to love you, you will eventually recognize those people. I also had to learn that those people that rejected me were meant to be in my life to help me find me,in order to love me for me. Now I'm at a place in my life where people might not like me but that's okay because I like me.

L.J: How was "Aim to IMPACT, not impress" birthed out and what is the purpose behind it?
Tresa: "Aim to IMPACT, not Impress" was birthed out from a place of low self-esteem, looking for man's approval, and a lack of confidence. 3 years ago, The Lord started speaking to me and He said, "I created you to be different, you are set apart" and that's how that download came to me because impact means change, impact means influence. When you're created to make a difference, when you're created to make a change; everyone will not like you. But, when that's your "aim" when that's your purpose; you won't worry about making an impression. You won't worry about people not clapping for you. I never want to go speak somewhere where people are impressed by what I said but, I didn't make an impact. I'm made to be effective, I'm not made to just give people a good feeling. That's my aim.
L.J: There
are so many organizations and movements geared towards making an impact
in women's lives. What is it about girls or women that we feel needs
that impact?
Tresa: I
don't think the women today are being raised by women with class or
women with intellect and I believe God is bridging that gap, He is
revamping and restoring that. Women today have lost their value, even we
at a point lost our value. So, now when you come back in God you find

Tresa: A lot of people inspire me but I would say the top 3 are my mom, my Apostle, Regina Martin and my Pastor, Betty Pierre. These women inspire me, first of all, because they're Haitian! [LOL] They're strong and this type of strength is a form of humility because their strength comes from God. They genuinely love God and no matter what they go through, they don't allow that to deter their relationship with God. Seeing that example helps me to keep going. I've seen them go through trial and error in almost every aspect of their lives and they just kept going and kept depending on God. I've watched them love without spite and it's beautiful to me, it's made an impact on my life and has set an example in my life to be an even better woman.L.J: What is the most IMPACTful lesson you've learned today?
Tresa: The most impactful lesson I've learned throughout the 28 years of my life is; in order to make an IMPACT, you must be the solution. Be what you never had, even if no one understands still be that person. Everyone doesn't have a solution. The key thing is because we have God, He reveals the hidden treasures. As long as we have a relationship with God even in the problems that you see, still be that solution because everything we go through is purposed. The pain was purposed, the betrayal was purposed. But, how did you overcome? What strategies did you use? Now use those tools to not only help yourself but someone else as well."I'm made to be effective, I'm not made to just give people a good feeling. That's my aim."- Luctresa Jackson
